TreeDuty is Excellent Development's voluntary carbon offsetting scheme used to raise funds for planting trees in Africa to combat the effects of climate change. Excellent Development plants over 85 species of rare, endangered and medicinal trees within protected forests helping to mitigate the devastating effects of climate change on communities in Africa.
Excellent Development’s forests help to address several problems facing the local communities: aiding the conservation of both endangered species and sources of medicine; increasing regional biodiversity; and acting as a carbon sink, helping the global carbon balance. Furthermore, the trees improve soil and water conservation in the region enabling more carbon dioxide to be absorbed by soil that would have otherwise eroded. For businesses, calculating carbon footprints can be time-consuming, complicated and often expensive. It is not an exact science so we have tried to make it simple for companies to offset some of all of their carbon emissions.
