Annual Report 2007/8

The past year has seen many successes for Excellent Development, as we continue to expand our work with community groups in Kenya and grow our income to support their activities.

During 2007/8, the 47 community groups between them have:
  • Built 54 sand dams to provide clean water
  • Dug 229 km of terracing to improve soil and water conservation
  • Planted 180,009 trees providing environmental and socio-economic benefits
  • Set up 18 new seed bank projects

Excellent Development has supported them in this by:

  • Raising over £677,000 in income
  • Launching three TreeDuty public fundraising brands - for flights, vehicles and annual offsets
  • Launching Development Education films to raise awareness of our work

Our impressive track record and effective management of resources was recognised at the Charity Awards 2008, where we were chosen as the Overall Winner of the Awards.
